Nicholas Matassini, a Tampa native, began practicing law in 1976. The Matassini family has been a part of the Tampa Bay community for over 100 years. Nicholas learned early on to aggressively fight for what he believed in. Upon release from active duty in the Marines, Nicholas received his B.A. from the University of South Florida before earning his Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in 1976. Nicholas returned to Tampa to open his own practice. As his practice developed, Nicholas represented individuals in many high profile cases in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death. Nicholas focused his practice on these areas of law because they allow him to help people who have suffered a personal or family tragedy, or who find themselves fighting against the vast resources of insurance companies.
Nicholas M. Matassini is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Northern, Middle and Southern District Courts of Florida and the 5th and 11th Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal. Nicholas is a member of The Florida Bar, the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The Florida Justice Association and the American Association for Justice.

Nicholas graduated from Jesuit High School in 1994 and received a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of South Florida in 1999. In 2003, Nicholas earned the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. Upon graduating from law school, Nicholas served his community for over two years as a Prosecutor for the Office of the State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County, Florida. As a prosecutor Nicholas tried numerous jury trials including attempted murder, grand theft, robbery, various drug offenses, aggravated battery, burglary, and driving under the influence, just to name a few. In 2005, Nicholas joined his father’s law practice where he dedicates his attention to helping victims of personal injury and wrongful death and representing the accused in both state and federal criminal defense.
Nicholas is a member in good standing of The Florida Bar, the Florida Justice Association, the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, The Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and L’ Unione Italiana. He is eligible to practice law in all Florida State Courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Christina was born and raised in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She attended the University of Florida where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (High Honors). Christina continued on at the University of Florida College of Law where she focused her studies on Trial Practice and Mediation and received her Juris Doctor in 2003.
Upon graduating from UF, Christina moved to Tampa Bay where she began her career as a prosecutor with The Office of the State Attorney, 13th Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County, Florida. During that time, Christina tried numerous misdemeanor and felony cases within the Misdemeanor/DUI and Juvenile divisions. Christina joined The Matassini Law Firm where she specializes in plaintiff’s personal injury, criminal defense, wrongful death and litigation. Christina’s practice focuses on the representation of the injured in all types of third party disputes and criminal defense throughout the State of Florida.
Christina is a member of several professional associations, including The Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Volusia County Bar Association, Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the Florida Justice Association. Christina is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for Middle District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Jose Barreiro is a Tampa native who graduated from Jesuit High School and received his Bachelors degree from the College of Engineering at the University of South Florida. He then graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.
Jose joined the Matassini Law Firm in 1996. Since then, he has been involved in a variety of cases ranging from murder to wrongful death. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the ATLA, the NACDL, the FACDL, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before all the state courts in Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. The areas of law which Jose practices are significant personal injury, wrongful death, insurance litigation, and criminal law. His wife Martha is an accomplished Early Childhood Educator. They have three children Andres, Sophia, and Lola.
